I initially thought Reinhard was going to be the main character, or at least that the story would be told from his perspective. His journey of exploring the Backrooms and uncovering the mystery behind his sudden transfer was what made the beginning of the story interesting. However, as the story progressed, the focus shifted away from Reinhard and the original concept. The plot became increasingly chaotic, with various anime characters appearing in the Backrooms and their conflicts gradually taking over the narrative. Instead of exploring the mysteries of the Backrooms, the story became centered around endless conflicts, grudges, and revenge between characters. Eventually, the Backrooms itself and its mysteries were almost completely forgotten, even as the story moved into another world, including the world of Re:Zero. This makes me question the purpose of the original premise. If the story was created around the idea of being transported to the Backrooms, why did it eventually turn into a story focused on long-running conflicts between characters across different worlds? The Backrooms had a lot of potential as the core setting, but it ended up feeling like a forgotten element rather than the main focus of the story.
