I visibly cringed reading the r18 scene. Why do most r18 authors in this app write like they're in a American high school.

Chinese authors trying to create an American setting never go well. The Chinese-to-English humor and idioms never translate well. Unless the author is Chinese-American or the translator has the creative liberty to do major content rework to make sense to the Western audience, it usually doesn't read well.

Really not a fan of changing character's names to make them seem more "American". You say you wanted to de-nationalize it, but aren't you doing the exact opposite by changing their names from their original Chinese names to American ones? Kind of feel like that slaps the face of the actual authors. You're translating, not editing/re-writing the novel.
