Captain, Let’s Date? [E-Sports]
Lu Xiangyang, the “Butcher” of the Ella team in the Chinese IVL (Identity V League), was a prodigy. Whenever he played, he could almost always secure multiple captures.
Yet this genius boy died on the night of his championship win.
When he was found, his wrists were terrifyingly thin.
—
Lu Xiangyang’s biggest regret was signing a contract with Ella for his mother’s medical expenses.
No one knew that in the team, he suffered cold violence and ridicule from his teammates, as well as rumors and insults.
Even with severe tenosynovitis in his hands, he pushed himself to keep training. Out of the millions in prize money, he received less than ten thousand yuan, and the club owner blocked him from retiring or transferring.
On the night of his third championship, his mother also passed away because her treatment was too late.
If he were given another chance, he would never have joined Ella.
He would make sure that this team never had a chance to win again.
But then, he truly reborn.
Reincarnated as Shen Kuangye, a youth trainee in the Ella team.
And he saw the younger, spirited version of himself beside him, still just a trainee.
He thought to himself: This time, I can’t let that idiot make the same mistakes.
—
No one knew why these two genius youth trainees refused Ella and instead joined the long-overlooked, bottom-ranking, and impoverished EAR team.
Netizens commented: “First doubt it, then doubt it again.”
Both trainees were devastatingly handsome.
One was the smiling Butcher King, the other the aloof Human King.
Their stunning looks combined with extraordinary gaming talent won them countless shipper fans.
Fans spent every waking moment shipping them.
After they joined, the EAR team actually rose to first in their group and won the Abyss Championship.
In the pouring rain, the cold and handsome boy tilted his head toward the blushing boy beside him, his gaze unusually soft.
On the night of the championship, the drunken boy blocked Shen Kuangye at the hotel door, cheeks flushed:
“Captain… let’s date, okay?”
Shen Kuangye didn’t answer, but the boy in his arms gathered courage and kissed him.
“...”
After a moment of silence, Shen Kuangye, feeling hopeless, cupped his face and returned the kiss.

Notes:
1. 1v1, gong/uke, Human Emperor × Butcher Emperor, mutual secret crush.
2. The game is Identity V, IVL esports; tons of personal headcanons, and I can't bear to let the kids suffer.
3. Pure fluff! Pure fluff!
4. Warning: Narcissus story! Narcissus story! (In short, it’s a self-cest story! If you don’t want this kind of theme, I advise you not to click or read this story. Again, it’s a self-cest story!)
