Après que sa famille a été brutalement assassinée devant elle par le Roi des Vampires, Zyren Blackthorn, pour être des chasseurs, Aria est laissée brisée et dévastée, désespérée de mourir.
Son monde est anéanti lorsque Zyren, au lieu de la tuer, la revendique comme son animal de compagnie, la traînant loin de son village jusqu'au cœur de la ville centrale. En tant qu'esclave humaine, elle est forcée d'endurer ses désirs sadiques. Chaque nuit, il lui rappelle son impuissance, mais sous sa cruauté se cache une obsession qui brûle avec intensité.
Malgré sa haine et son désir de vengeance, le corps d'Aria la trahit, et elle se retrouve prise entre un désir sombre et son besoin désespéré de vengeance.

La respiration d'Aria se bloqua tandis que les doigts de Zyren traçaient la ligne de sa mâchoire, son toucher plus froid que la glace, pourtant brûlant sa peau avec la promesse d'en faire plus. Elle devrait résister, devrait riposter, mais son corps la trahissait—frissonnant, désirant ardemment le plaisir qu'elle savait qu'il pouvait lui donner.
"Tu pensais que je te tuerais," murmura Zyren, sa voix un ronronnement sombre. "Mais au lieu de cela, tu m'appartiendras. Chaque partie de toi sera mienne."
Ses lèvres s'entrouvrirent pour parler, mais les mots restèrent coincés dans sa gorge. Le souvenir du sang de sa famille tachant ses mains lui retournait l'estomac tandis qu'elle le regardait avec haine.
"Dis-moi," grogna-t-il, ses mains descendant plus bas, pressant contre la douceur de sa peau, "souhaites-tu toujours mourir?"
Elle serra les poings, les larmes menaçant de couler, mais son corps tremblait sous son toucher.
"Je ne souhaite rien d'autre que d'être libre de toi," cracha-t-elle, mais même alors que les mots quittaient ses lèvres, elle sentait la faim en elle—une faim qu'elle détestait mais qu'elle ne pouvait nier tandis qu'elle fixait ses yeux rouges.
Un besoin de se PRÉSENTER à lui et de le laisser la monter... corps et âme.
