The rules of QuidditchThere are three types of Quidditch balls used in a Quidditch match, including the Quaffle, two Bludgers, and the Snitch. The Quaffle was twelve inches in diameter and bright red. It was used mainly for scoring, and scoring a Quaffle would earn ten points. Bludgers were black iron and ten inches in diameter. They were meant to chase the nearest member of the broomstick. The Snitch was the size of a walnut and had silver wings. It flew extremely fast and difficult to catch. Whoever caught the Snitch would get one hundred and fifty points, and a Quidditch match would only end if the Snitch was caught.
The team consisted of a Keeper (1), who guarded the goal to prevent the opponent from scoring; a Beater (2), who protected his team from Bludgers with a bat and could hit the Bludger far away or at the opponent; a Chaser (3), who scored points by throwing the Quaffle into the opponent's hoop; and a Seeker (1), who caught the Snitch. The Seeker was usually a player who was light, fast, had sharp vision, and had special flying abilities.
There was no time limit, and the team with the most points would win. The record for a Quidditch match was three months, when both teams had to find substitutes to take turns. In addition, the referee could award a penalty to a team. If the other team committed a foul, there were more than seven hundred fouls in the game, all of which appeared in the first Quidditch World Cup final in 1473.

Quidditch foul behaviorThere were ten common Quidditch fouls:
1. Pulling: A rule that all players can commit, which is to grab the end of an opponent's broom in order to slow him down or hinder his progress.
2. Collision: A foul that all players may commit. It refers to deliberately hitting an opponent while flying.
3. Slamming Broomstick: A foul that can be committed by any player. By stopping the broom in an emergency, the opponent will deviate from the direction of flight.
4. Hit Out: A possible foul by the batsman, which is to hit the Bludger toward the audience.
5. Elbow Strike: A possible violation by all players. It refers to the abuse of elbow strikes against the opponent.
6. Shot behind the hoop: A foul that only the Keeper can commit. Any part of the body will pass through the hoop to hit the Quaffle. The Keeper should block the hoop in front of the hoop.
7. Grip into the hoop: A foul that can only be committed by the Chaser. The Quaffle is still in his hand as it passes through the hoop. The Quaffle must be thrown.
8. Destroy the Quaffle: A possible foul by a Chaser, such as manipulating the Quaffle by, for example, piercing it to make it fall faster or go in a zigzagging pattern.

A loophole in the Quidditch rulesAlthough Quidditch was an imaginative sport in Harry Potter's worldview, there were some rules that could be seen as loopholes. For example, in a match, players had to shoot the Quaffle into one of the opponent's three gates to gain a ten-point lead, and they had to guard against two Bludgers, guard against the opponent's bad tricks, and protect their Seeker to catch the Snitch as soon as possible (catching it would immediately end the match and get an additional 150 points). The whole process was complicated and there might be some ambiguity in the actual operation and judgment. However, there was no official and detailed explanation of the specific loopholes in the rules. It was more reflected in the complexity of the rules and some of the game's plots that there might be imperfect places.
