The end of the world didn't come with a quiet virus or a silent whimper; it arrived on the wind as an echo of booming, sadistic laughter.
Inside the colossal, brutalist fortress-cities known as the Redoubts, humanity clings to survival behind massive stone walls, connected only by heavily armored steam trains cutting through the toxic waste. But outside the iron gates roams the ultimate nightmare: the Grinned. These towering, mutated giants—ranging from three to sixty meters tall—were born from the sudden, catastrophic atmospheric blowout of the Red Spill. They are not mindless beasts driven by primal hunger. The Grinned retained their human intelligence, meaning they actively strategize, engineer massive traps, and chillingly mimic the screams of lost children to lure soldiers out of hiding, smiling with manic, unhinged ecstasy the entire time. One drop of their pressurized, infectious blood into an open wound or eye turns an ally into a cackling monster in just thirty seconds.
To fight these massive sadists, elite scouts rely on the Valkyrie Harness, a steam-powered aerial grapple system that allows them to swing through the air at lethal speeds. But slicing a giant's neck at fifty miles per hour is a suicide mission that requires dodging a localized rain of boiling, infectious fluid.
In this world, there is no chosen one and absolutely no plot armor. **GRIN** is a relentless, multi-volume anthology where any character can die at any second.
Volume One, "The Iron Gate," throws a desperate group of survivors into the meat-grinder when the outer wall crumbles, forcing an elite scout, a fake soldier, a cold pathologist, and a crew of escaped death-row inmates to fight together for the last train out.
Volume Two, "The Long Road," plunges into claustrophobic psychological horror aboard an armored train stranded in the fog-choked wastes, haunted by a giant mimicking human voices over the radio.
Volume Three, "The Blood Covenant," uncovers a dark political conspiracy in the high-society inner rings, exposing the sick truth of how the elite have been fueling their empires using the spinal fluid of captured giants.
Trapped inside the pressure cooker of the collapsing Redoubts, the monsters outside are only half the threat. Out here, the corrupt cops, murderers, and predators standing next to you are just as lethal as the smiling giants clawing at the gates.
