is hawkins indiana a real place

This seems like a non-fantasy novel that probably takes place in older times, like during the gold rush or something. This gives me an Indiana Jones feel and will probably be really similar. Though, you could also assume that a treasure-loving race is involved from the synopsis.

Once you pay for privilege chapters (I paid for the first two) there’s a *whole chapter* where an adversary’s name is replaced with the MC/ML’s *right hand man’s name*. It’s egregious. Also the ML’s name changes from Bryan Hawkins to Bryan Cooper out of nowhere. But the rest of his family keeps the Hawkins name. It’s. Ridiculous. Other than that it’s great. But I’m not reading it again until they fix those things.

Intriguing way to get a power after being down on his luck. Feels a bit like Indiana Jones entering the temple. Lots of sarcastic and sexual humour throughout and an OP protagonist.
