First of all, Boruto anime did not nerf anyone. Naruto and Sasuke nearly won all their battles in Boruto and lost to Ishiki bcz Ishiki is an elder of Kaguya and stronger than her. Besides Naruto and sasuke did not learn any new jutsu during timeskip, so their losing in Boruto does makes sense.
