ML 1. He was there first! He saw her through her highs and lows, gave her strength when she almost gave up her life, loved her and still loves her to the moon and back and could literally give his life up for her. So he wasn't going to let anyone snatch her away! She was his and only HIS!
ML 2. Truthfully, he came into her life pretty late but he still wants to show her the best of the world. He wanted to give her all the love in his heart! And he'd definitely win her over! Besides who set the rule that love was a first come first serve basis?

“GET. OFF. ME!” she yelled from the frustration of not being able to use her powers on him and also his shamelessness.
She didn't bargain for this! At all!
“Shh...you don't want to wake your mum and dad up now, do you?” he silenced her by putting his slender finger on her lips.
“If you don't get off me right this instant, I'll scream and you'll ultimately be banned from entering this house, your choice.” she stated with one of her eyebrows raised.
“Scream, Penny.”, he provoked her with his eyes on her lips.
Angry cause he doubted her, she yelled, “Mum....!”, but her scream was cut off by his lips.

I dearly love TBBT. But this story appears to be inconsistant, it annoys me. There is a brother that visits 4A with a toolbox for the first time (since Leonard does not know him) and suddenly Sheldon notices a repaired shelf. I mean - what? Then comes Penny and introduces herself, bringing cookies. Leonard is his awkward self as this appears to be the first time seeing her and Penny - being the first time in 4A says "I did not know you had guests".... While I have no problem with AI... you really should proveread more. Or ask someone to be a beta reader.
