One of the worst 'historical-event-related' stories I have ever read. Author created an MC that is so confident in evaluating political events in the medieval Europe and yet is so ignorant about basic political events in the history. It has an obvious atheist bias that looks down on all religious factions. One of the feature they got wrong is about crusade against 'fire worshipers'. There was no 'crusade' against fire worshipers, originally the Zoroastrians. Zoroastrians belong to the Sassanid Empire and their neighbor is a Byzantine Empire which is one of the Christian empire. They both fought against each other and eventually became weak giving rise to the Islamic expansion from Arabia. The crusade you are talking about is against the Islamic expansion that conquered both empires and extended further west and east.... If you are putting your MC into the period of Crusades you should at least get the basic things right. 15 days ago
