I so loved the storyline and the matchmakers. The male lead family is so supportive of their relationship, doted on her and they are easily excited every time the main characters' relationship advanced. I also like the fact that the female lead does not let her feelings be easily displayed on her face. Although, that actually did make their relationship even harder to progress since the male lead had the misconception that the female lead is so invincible that she is infallible to every harsh words and action of his. However, I also likes this side of her as she is decisive, unhesitant, strong headed at all times making her uneasily wavered or defeated. In actuality, you could see the male lead being defeated and had to crumble time and time again because of her. The only negatives thing this trait brought upon her is that it makes her dishonest and unable to reveal the actual truth (causing herself to be hurt time and time again as she faced the rage or jealousy of the male lead). But I doubt that this was her fault as even if she was being honest, I doubt the male lead would believe her. In fact, I think the male lead is so dense and too childish to realize his feelings and it would be better like this, with the truth hidden from him. The male lead is not all that terrible except for the fact that he is being blind to the truth and his stupidity (childishness due to his desire to defeat her). He being rude all the time is actually a result of his long time desire to come out on top in their battles. Although, actually he has long since won it already and the feelings he harboured and mistakenly thought as grudge is in actuality, the love and affection that he held for her. Now, if only, he would be slapped awake a thousand times until he could realuze that. However, I very much like the fact that he is loyal and dislike any other woman's touch (except for female lead) despite having woman all around him. Anyway, the story is much too intriguing to be pass or missed out on. Hope this review can give you a general idea on how the story will progress based on their characteristics.

In the Ming Dynasty literature, matchmakers were usually called flower women or matchmakers, and they were the intermediary agencies responsible for introducing men and women to marriage. The matchmaker's duties included introducing, contacting, and communicating the wishes of both parties and coordinating the marriage ceremony. In some novels, the flower granny may also play the role of a gender-changing role to help men find a partner or arrange blind dates for women. In the Ming Dynasty, matchmakers were a very important profession. Not only did they have a high social status, but they also earned a lot of money. Matchmakers were usually sent by families or religious organizations to deliver messages and coordinate rituals. They also needed to receive guidance and arrangements from their employers. The image and role of matchmakers in Ming Dynasty literature reflected the views and values of marriage and interpersonal relationships in society at that time.
