The Veteran's Last Roar — Miller

Thirty-three years old. For most people, it's the prime of life. For a footballer, it's the sound of a clock that never stops ticking. August 10, 2023. While all of England buzzes with anticipation for the Premier League's opening week, Miller Jolene O'Brian sits alone in a worn-down boxing gym in Manchester. No celebration, no birthday cake. Just sweat soaking through the sharp edges of his Mohawk Mullet. Today, he turns thirty-three — and his only gift is a brutal truth: he has no club. Released by Toronto FC at the end of last season, Miller has become something of a ghost. His agent — Uncle Connor — hasn't delivered a single promising call. His name has been quietly scratched off every wishlist at the top clubs. "Too old," the scouts say. "Too slow," the data analysts whisper. Yet Miller O'Brian is nothing if not stubbornly extraordinary. While his peers are already weighing retirement or chasing final paydays in the Gulf, Miller has turned down lucrative offers from Qatar and Saudi Arabia without a second thought. He carries both an American and an Irish passport — two nations ready to hand him the captain's armband tomorrow morning, if only he'd say the word. But Miller wants only one thing. One call from The Three Lions. Every morning, he raises both palms to the sky. The Crescent and Star tattooed on his left — a prayer for his mother. The Cross on his right — a tribute to the legacy of his father. Beneath the rough exterior and the cold, steel gaze that has frozen countless defenders in their tracks, Miller is something few would expect: a gentle soul. In the presence of his parents, the fearsome striker is simply a devoted son — soft-spoken, careful, and full of quiet love. Can a thirty-three-year-old ghost of a man still haunt the dreams of an entire nation? Only time will tell. Disclaimer: This story is entirely fictional. I am disappointed in this story. I was expecting a non-human lead instead what I got was a human reincarnated into a parasite that took over a humans brain. There are several parts of the story that confuse me. 1. The romance: Originally Matt was dating two different women Cindy and Alexsi but when Alexsi got pregnant Cindy basically has not been in the story at all. 2. The sentient plant: The plant becomes a cat. I have no idea how or why. 3. Matt: There are two Matt's in the story The human Matt and the Parasite Matt; both are named Matt. It gets confusing as to who is being referred to. The human or the parasite inside him, or is Matt the human that is inside the parasite? 4. Matt's origin story(the possessed one) see what I mean?: All of his information was kept inside a box left on a flashdrive by his parents before they died and apparently the parasite was put inside him as a child. Matt somehow never checked the box and didn't know that he was infected. Also it was encrypted with a password which was the birthday of his first goat which happened AFTER his parents died. How did it get encrypted? 5. Alexsi: She was with Matt when he found out and didn't try to out him/ kill him. Instead she lets him infect her brain with a parasite. (one of his sub-bodies) Basically became his slave without much thought (in my opinion) even when she found out that Matt was manipulating her mind through hypnosis and her dreams. Now that being said I don't hate this novel, there are plenty of things that I enjoy about it. I was just hoping for more of an evil parasite, one who sabotages the ship and kills the crew. Like a plot from Among Us. An Imposter if you will.

I'm not certain as the 'Matt Foley Christmas Story' isn't a well - known mainstream story. But generally, Matt Foley could be the main character, perhaps a local figure or just an ordinary person created for this particular story. Just to temper her, who knew that when she returned to the clan, her personality was still the same as before. In a fit of anger, the Jade King sent her to the Master God for discipline. Who knew that Jiang Wanran would cry the moment she saw the Sovereign and even have nightmares for several days in a row. The Sovereign was both angry and frustrated. The little wife he had taken a fancy to was afraid of him, and she even had nightmares for several days. Hence, he pretended to be sick and asked Jiang Wanran to do a mission to save him, claiming that he did not want to die. Yun Chen: I came to this world for a walk. My life is only complete when I'm with you. Jiang Wanran: I have written many love words, each of which is about you. It's better to have you in my life. [Mission: Jiang Wanran cried her eyes out. She looked at the amnesiac general with a guilty conscience." I'm your unmarried wife. You can't bully me."] Later, he grabbed her fair neck and said in a cruel tone," Since Ranran lied to me, she has to lie to me for the rest of her life." The campus belle Jiang Wanran had a secret that no one knew. She had a crush on the famous Chen Yan and had put a lot of snacks on Chen Yan's table for more than a month. [Note: There are only three lifetimes when one descends to the mortal world to complete missions.
