Synopsis
At some point, wizards appeared. Beings far different than the creatures who lived on the island from the start. The wizards all yearn for a certain place with all their hearts, a place so far beyond the world that they can never return to it. The creatures of the island call that place the Beyond, all while marveling at the wondrous magic the wizards show them. But the wizards say that the Beyond is a world without magic. Before the creatures could inquire further, the wizards were gone, leaving behind only a few small traces of the wonder they once wielded. But the creatures say that, far to the south, the last wizard lives, maintaining a watchful vigil over the land, in hopes that the others will return. Before anyone could expect - not the last wizards left alive beyond the edges of the world, not the creatures living in the forest dreaming of something new, not even the last remaining warriors fighting for a dying country - the world shatters. In the aftermath, the only ones who can do anything are the few creatures who were unceremoniously dragged into a war that history was too scared to record. Author Note: I started writing this in seventh grade. I was one of those kids who wanted to write a book in elementary and middle school. I actually found the time and motivation to finish it. I dug it up one day and decided to post it here to see what everyone thinks. I also dug up the old planning document I used and found a bunch of storyline that is supposed to come after that I didn't manage to write, so there will be sequel novels to The Island of Cataclysm (the first volume). So don't go and leave the moment you see an "Epilogue" chapter. That just means that this particular chunk of the story is over. There's still more. I hope you all enjoy! - MagicSquirrel

After reading some of the reviews on the novel, I just had to drop this comment because I don't think this novel is getting as much praise as it should. If I'm being honest, this novel has the potential to be number 1 in any category it finds itself. I've read so many light novels and I constantly find myself getting disenchanted due to the repetitiveness, lack of creativity and an overall lack of good story telling. Where do i even start from, the sheer thought that goes into creating each of the characters, arcs and every single element of the plot. The creativity that goes into writing the fight scenes, the layered suspense that is the world they live in. Behind evey enemy, every monument, every marking on the wall or memory, there is a hidden story waiting to be unraveled. Even the romance is playing out satisfyingly. The author doesn't just pump the mc full of ridiculous powers and let him raze through the world like he's a favoured son of heaven. The idea that the story is predictable is ludicrous, who'd have ever expected how the first nightmare played out that led to him getting his true name- lost from light. Who'd have expected the betrayal from Cassie and that Nephis would actually be abandoned in the nightmare. The story about the chained islands is as epic as it gets- the exposé into the world of sorcerey, gods, daemons. To be honest, I don't think I'm good enough of a writer to express just how much I appreciate this book, it's a breath of fresh air in a world of cliche plotlines, brain dead MC's, and light novels that couldn't be bothered about telling a good story. The only scruple I have is the issue with Cassie, while I'm not saying there shouldn't be a resolution of their conflict, it feels like the author just wants to gloss over it, but they're not there yet. That was a betrayal that should not be easily forgiven. This is not something I give easily, but for me this novel is a 9/10.

One of the better original novels on the site, unfortunately that still doesn't make it very compared to the translated novels out there. It works reasonably well as a slice-of-life business cultivation/setpiece dungeon fight novel, but can fall badly out of depth when the author attempts to be more ambitious, as with it's MC moral event horizon arc around chapter 100, wherein the author asks the question, what might drive our laid back MC to murder, and the answer is: "making my store grow faster". Unfortunately for the author, he's put himself in a modern world where people have conquered death, and it ends up being the most ham-handed attempt at character growth I've seen in ages even though this site is full of young masters and cardboard cut-out villains In pretty much its entirety, this is the reasoning he goes from mild-mannered shopkeeper to deciding to be a mass murderer. "This might be a ****** end goal: to be the number one dungeon supplier, but who knew when people with evil intentions would want his technology or threaten him or maybe even Zhen Qing if he employed her. He was not entirely oblivious to this matter as he started to notice the actions of King's Monster subtly react to the opening of his store. For the first time ever, King's Monster, a mega dungeon supplier in Shenzhen business district was offering discounts. There were even forum users in Pandamonium that casually compared the recent amount of human traffic in King's Monster and Boss Jin's stores and said that King's Monster was seeing a lower human traffic than ever before. Hence, he needed the help of the system to get stronger by whatever means necessary. If he needed to build the shop on a mountain of monster and human corpses to protect himself and the ones he loved and had an interest in, then so be it." So, his business is doing so well with its cheats that one of his competitors lowered prices. So he needs to murder people and loot their corpses. Nothing like the mortal threat of the rival store you're thrashing lowering their prices to get the ole murder juices flowing. Nevermind the fact that he's already set himself up as a high-end luxury boutique shop with vastly higher prices than the going market rate already. This sets of a belabored arc about his moral event horizon which, if anything, resolves even more unsatisfactorily than it began. The novel remains head-and-shoulders above most of the original novels on the site, but consider me disenchanted.

Definitely not. 'Twilight' was created as a standalone work in the young - adult paranormal romance genre. It has its own unique plot, characters, and world - building that have no relation to being an MCR fanfic. MCR is a rock band, and while there may be fans who might create fanfics related to them, 'Twilight' is not one of them.
