(Nothing to do with novel. Just wanted some stones. Voted it though ) So what does this ridiculously long title about an adventuring man with a daughter can give us? The formula for on which the manga is written is pretty simple. Take the episodic/arc-based adventures from any adventure fiction, add the powerfantasy from isekais, then spice it with some family relationship and an adorable daughter that make your heart melt. Make it into a more lighthearted comedy centered work and that is it. It may seem mish-mash of ideas but the manga pulls it of very well. For a more detailed version: The story is builds from loosely connected arcs where the main duo meets with new people, in new places kind of like Kino no tabi although not as philosophical. The fantasy setting seems generic, but the writer tweaked it a little bit to add some depth and flavor to it. The characters are enjoyable. Douglas may be the strongest mage but that doesn't make him the best caretaker in the world and that makes him more believable and interesting
