Helping the Poor First, Helping the WiseThe following are some of the materials for the "Helping the Elderly":
** I. The importance of intellectual support to poverty reduction **
1. ** Breaking the Intergeneration Transmission of Poor People **
- The children of poor families were often influenced by their parents 'behavior due to the lack of resources and opportunities. They inherited limited thinking. Education was the fundamental policy to block the inter-generation transmission of poverty. For example, in China, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, they worked hard to implement the concept of education for all. From the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, more than 80% of the 450 million people in China were illiterate. In 1949, there were only 117,000 people in the country who received higher education. Now, nine years of compulsory education were fully popularized. More than 280 million people in the country had university education, and the illiterate rate had dropped to 2.67%. This showed that education played an irreplaceable role in improving the quality of the people and breaking the inter-generation cycle of poverty.
2. ** Enhancing the ability of the poor to lift themselves out of poverty **
- Wisdom was the method, skill, and knowledge to get out of poverty. If poverty relief did not help the intellect, some poor households would fall into the predicament of lack of knowledge and skills. It would be difficult for them to get rid of poverty with their own efforts and gradually lose their enthusiasm to get rid of poverty. For example, many young and healthy people in poor areas could not get out of poverty because they did not have skills and knowledge. Only by supporting wisdom, increasing the educational resources in poor areas, and strengthening knowledge and skills training could the poor people's ability to become rich be improved, and the transformation from "blood transfusion" to "blood production" could be realized, so that poverty relief could be more stable and sustained.
3. ** Understanding and solving poverty in essence **
- Education poverty was the most important factor in causing poverty, and it was also the most difficult development shortcoming to make up for. Nobel Prize winner Amartia Sen believed that poverty was the loss of basic ability. The lack of "ability" to obtain resources, opportunities, and even basic necessities of life meant that people fell into poverty. The lack of education would lead to poverty in the ability of the disadvantaged groups, narrowing the employment radius, spiritual self-limitation, and the inter-generation transmission of poverty. Only by recognizing the intrinsic relationship between the nature of poverty and education, and understanding that "supporting the head" was more important than "supporting the pocket", could the problem of poverty be fundamentally solved.
** II. The specific measures and effects of intellectual support **
1. ** Multiple Models of Helping the Poor in Colleges and Universities **
- Colleges and universities had unique advantages in science and technology, talents, intelligence, and so on. They had become an important force in poverty reduction. Different types of colleges and universities had their own strengths, such as the "supporting industry" and "supporting intelligence" model of agricultural and rural colleges, the double assistance model of strengthening teachers and helping teachers in normal universities, the "supporting doctors" and health promotion model of medical colleges, the "academic qualifications + skills" double improvement model of professional colleges, and the full-caliber enabling support model of comprehensive universities. These models used "precise training" to promote "precise poverty relief." The focus of precise training was to help the industry with science and technology, to help the smart and enable the accurate training of rich people and leaders, grassroots officials, young and middle-aged workers, rural teachers, rural doctors, and other different groups.
2. ** The policy results of poverty reduction through education **
- Take Liangshan, Sichuan Province as an example. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liangshan was brought from a slave society to a socialistic society. Although Liangshan Prefecture belonged to a food-based finance, it still regarded education poverty relief as a fundamental policy and advocated selling iron to do education. Since the 18th National Congress of the People's Republic of China, the pre-school universal policy has benefited more than 420,000 pre-school children, the drop-out policy has saved 62,000 drop-outs, and the state's compulsory education students have been fully covered. University funding, professional education and other aspects have been involved, making the children's journey to school smoother, which reflects the remarkable achievements of the education poverty relief policy.
3. ** The state's investment and emphasis on poverty reduction through education **
- At the national level, in 2024, the central government allocated 164.9 billion yuan for education expenditure, an increase of 5%. The state continued to increase investment in education, which made the role of education in poverty reduction more obvious.

Helping others**Title: The Importance of Being Helpful**
In modern society, the act of helping others is of great significance.
On one hand, helping others can create a harmonious social environment. For example, when we see an old person having difficulty crossing the road, if we offer our help, not only will the old person be able to cross the road safely, but also those who witness this scene will be touched by this warm - hearted behavior. This small act of kindness can spread positive energy, making the people around us feel the warmth and friendliness of the society.
On the other hand, being helpful is also beneficial to the helper himself. It can bring a sense of satisfaction and achievement. When we help someone solve a problem or get out of trouble, we will feel that we are useful and valuable. This positive feeling can enhance our self - confidence and self - esteem.
However, some people may be reluctant to help others because they are worried about being deceived or causing trouble to themselves. But we should not let these concerns overshadow the positive meaning of helping others. We can take some appropriate precautions when helping others, such as leaving evidence in a proper way when helping strangers in some special situations.
In conclusion, being helpful is an essential quality that everyone should possess. We should actively participate in helping others, whether it is in daily life or in the face of major disasters, so as to make the world a better place.
