Suzie's World MovieSusie's World (aka The Cute Bones) was a fantasy horror film directed by Peter Jackson and adapted from Alice Sejong's 2002 novel of the same name. It debuted on November 24, 2009 at the Royal Conductor's performance in the United Kingdom, and was released in the United States on December 11, 2009.
The film was set in Pennsylvania in 1973. After the murder of Susie, a 14-year-old girl, her soul came to the "middle ground" between heaven and earth to overlook the changes in the lives of her loved ones. She witnessed her loved ones gradually overcome their grief as time passed, starting anew, and finally letting go of their obsession and entering heaven.
Susie had a lively personality and had a crush on her senior, Ray. She dreamed of becoming a photographer and had a happy family. However, on December 6, 1973, she was lured by her neighbor Harvey into the basement of the cornfield to rape and kill her. Susie's family experienced different grief reactions after she was killed. Her father was obsessed with finding the murderer, her mother chose to run away, her sister grew up overnight, and her younger brother once dreamed of her sister.
The film was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 82nd Academy Awards and Best Supporting Actor at the 67th Golden Globes. Saoirse Ronan won the Best Young Actress Award at the 9th Phoenix Film Critic Society Awards for this film. It was released in more than 70 countries and regions around the world, with a total box office of more than 93.62 million US dollars (as of November 19,2022).

The main themes in Archie and Suzie comics vary, but often revolve around teenage life, relationships, and the fun and challenges of growing up. There's also a focus on school, hobbies, and the bonds among friends.
In my opinion this novel is pretty good, because its relatively realistic and the world building creates interesting scenes and makes you wonder more about the world Suzie adventures through. Although there are various grammatical issues probably due to translation, the main nitpick I have with this novel is how stupid the characters can be. I've read about 35 chapters and there is still no reason to like Hadley (No redeeming qualities on why she's Peyton's first love besides her being "happy"), and some of Suzie's actions are illogical and sometimes out of character. However, as I said before this novel besides those nitpicks is pretty interesting and I will continue reading and hoping for more chapters.
