The dragon smells the egg from who the fxck knows where and travels who the fxck knows how far basically instantly and kills everyone of course and at the end the MCs mother pushes him off of a cliff with the egg. Well at this point the dragon just decides to say fxck it I have already traveled far enough for my dumb egg forget it and goes off somewhere else because the MC stays all broken and bloody unconscious for who knows how long while the egg hatches on him without getting WTF curb stomp killed by the dragon who can instantly travel who the fxck knows how far and will stop at nothing, except cliffs apparently, to kill everything and get its egg back.
