The story takes place in a combination of ocean and Chutly mythology world, a new and interesting background. This is a refreshing novel from the sea of overused ideas and cliches. Although this novel doesnt stray too far away from typical xianxia, it presents the story in a refreshingly horror inspired atmosphere. Basically like a mix of a xianxia with reddits nosleep stories. Hopefully the novel will maintain this atmosphere throughout the rest of it.
