Let me preface this with an apology. I have no experience reading horror novels and what I'm presenting here is merely a layperson's opinion of this book, not a comprehensive critic that takes into account the minutiae of this niche genre. But as far as I know, horror novels are hard to write well, and that is something that the author should be commended for, especially when it has been done well.
