Das apokalyptische Ende verblasste schließlich aus den Köpfen aller, und ein Klingengeborener zu sein, wurde plötzlich zu einem Beruf. Manche behandelten die Schwertprüfungen sogar als reines Spiel. Schulen begannen, Schwertkunstkurse als Hauptfach anzubieten, und diejenigen, die an derselben High School ihre Mitschüler übertrafen, wurden Schwertprinz und Prinzessinnen genannt. Eine solche Berühmtheit war Daru Finnley, ein junger Mann, der eine ungewöhnliche Liebe zum Schwert hegte. Nach einer katastrophalen Erweckungszeremonie als der Gefallene Schwertprinz bezeichnet, verwandelte sich das Etikett des Genies über Nacht in das eines Versagers.
