The story unfolds gradually. Another twisted man whose power and influence can equal Feifei or more. Being helpful and chivalric doesn't get you good sometimes. For a man who's been helped, this general seems so damn weird.

Honestly really loving the story development! Alian's character, though questionable but pretty chivalric, true to his words! Man knows what he's doing but he'll just let his future self deal with the consequences eh I'm all for the romance here, it's pretty good. The first chapter needs a bit more clarity regarding when he reincarnated, but that is the only fault I can find. Otherwise, it has been a true delight to read. The MC is truly chivalric and human in his values while, at the same time, still being Sheldon. The family life is pure chef’s kiss, and the later parts involving his social life are seamless. Give this a chance, and I promise you will find joy within it.

The story has relatively constant updates and the writing itself is good in comparison to many here. Still, can't really recommend it and it's definitely not for me. The romantic interests felt very poorly developed. Rhaenyra starts having some overly poetic 'true love' shtick as soon as the MC helps out and has a amicable conversation with her, the MC is head over heels at Alicent out of nowhere after a few casual conversations. And, unfortunately, said poorly developed romantic drama is a main part of the story. The MC is also the most white knight fictional knight that I've ever seen, with a chivalric sense that feels more like early GoT Sansa's dreams than any believable person. For some this could be a positive, if you wanna read about a teen girl ideal knight in Westeros fic, but for me it just felt very off in the setting. He also has zero ambition, which could be fine for me, but he also has almost no agency. Half of the story starts over something like "someone needs help... some inner monologue on why he should help... helps", so the MC feels more like a plot-device for other people's stories than a MC. We hear about how he was relevant in decision making in Runestone (his fief), but barely see it, and almost all (if not all) large plotpoints around him are focused on him caring about some else's wants.

The story is quite interesting, and I really like the duality between Joan of Arc and Napoléon, Joan who is very valiant but lacks of any political sense and wants to fight while preserving the code of chivalry, and Napoleon, who is talented in terms of war strategy and politics but seems very cynical and disrespectful of the chivalric spirit. I find that the two counterbalance each other well and mutually prevent each other from exacerbating their respective flaws, especially when Joan tells Napoleon not to go too fast and to go to Reims before going to Paris. And Napoleon makes Joan understand that war is not just a matter of honor and chivalry and that victory must be achieved even if the methods are orthodox and contrary to some medieval principles. But as for the development of the story... im afraid that the story will remain too close to the historical timeline, knowing that Napoleon returned to Reims at the exact same time. Or that on Patreon it's stated that the real Napoleon (of 1804) wasn't the first to crown himself and that Charles VII had already done so (a rather cool passage that shows Napoleon still has a big ego ^^). This could indicate that the events in this story won't change the future of France at all, which would be very disappointing. Will Napoleon end the war much sooner? Joan d'arc will survive ? Will he succeed in his goal of forming a permanent royal army? Will he go back to war to establish the natural borders and perhaps even take Corsica? In any case I can't wait to see what happens next.
