Review until Chapter 40: Translation quality needs TONS of improvement. This book loses track of gender pronouns and even the characters’ names. Latest one would be Grandma Chen. She was mentioned then poof she turned into Mother Chen. Also, Mother Chen (Yilan) likes her daughter-in-law Qingqing a lot and yet asked her to call her (Yilan) AUNT. Should it not be MOTHER? FL Qingqing is not a complete pushover or weak. She just have a big weakness, her adoptive mother. ML is good. He was not portrayed like “Voilà, I’m hale and hearty now that I can run a marathon.” His recuperation is slow. There should be therapists to teach his wife and guide him back to mobility. 3 years of being a vegetable… and no mention of nutrient infusions. There are a lot of inconsistencies that need to be edited or corrected. But it is still a good read so far, just not a must read for me.
