Always wanted to see a Gary Oak fanfic and now we have one! The story isn't too fast paced but isn't too slow and dragged on either. It has a good description and setup of what is happening around the MC while also showing character development and growth. If I had to make a complaint it would be the 'Ash is a loser' thing. I love it as it's a total Gary thing to do but meh. Can't wait to see an actual fight between the two of them at the Indigo league!
