While he pretends to struggle with basic theory at the Academy, he is secretly following the System’s brutal commands, growing in strength through a "Daily Quest" that pushes his body to the brink of death. He doesn't wield the celebrated Solar Light; he wields the Dormant Darkness, a primal force capable of erasing reality itself.
When a standard training exercise at the Academy is sabotaged, Alexa and his classmates—including the arrogant "prodigies" and his only friend, the mysterious slacker John Miller—are trapped in the Zombie Realm. What was supposed to be a three-hour test becomes a three-month struggle for survival in a time-dilated nightmare.
As the "geniuses" fall into despair and mana-poverty, the "Dud" must step out of the shadows. Armed with the Spine of the Void and guided by a System that demands perfection, Alexa begins a secret hunt to clear the path for his peers.
He isn't just trying to survive the dungeon. He is preparing for the day the world discovers that the "stray" they mocked is the only thing standing between them and the end of the Great Realms.

I decided, after listening to this series on Audible, that I wanted to read it as well. The Audible version is excellent, but there's just something very satisfying about reading the words yourself. Still a wonderful story!
