I've been enthralled with this book from the very start! I love stories with a supernatural element, and I definitely get my fix with this book. This is a Romance, a very, VERY, slow burn romance between a vampire Lord and a human girl/woman. (Our female MC starts off as a child in the story and we follow along as she grows up into a woman, where the romance aspect of the book begins.) The main characters are beautifully written. The female lead is innocent, pure, kind, but also Noble, brave and adventurous. Our male MC is fierce, dominating, and powerful, yet also very gentle, loving, and highly intelligent. He is a cunning strategist! (He's not a super powerful vampire Lord for no reason, after all!) If you enjoy novels with vampires, romance and mysteries, I highly recommend you give the valerian empire a try!
