The place they lived was a rural village far from the royal capital.
After fending off a fierce attack from the demon army once, a second attack never came, and thus the royal army never visited this place again after that incident.
However, in this cold yet peaceful village, Cua grew up under the scornful gazes of many.
They called his mother a prostitute who gave herself to an unknown man and even became pregnant, and the child she gave birth to was a despicable bastard.

I couldn't read much of this story. Not my cup of tea. The main point that i didn't like was the characters (all of them) that reminded me of low quality third tier actors with all those constantly exaggerated emotions and "reasoning". This is a "normal" thing in these "pulp fictions", but it is particularly accentuated in this novel.
