It's alright, but the overall development of both characters and the story itself seems rather dull to me. I mean, the entire story development revolves around the same tired process: MC thinks of a "new" invention -> people are shocked by that "new" invention -> the "new" invention revolutionizes this "primitive" world. Rinse and repeat.
