Story is ok. It could be better if the author let the MC be his own person with his own thoughts and feelings and goals. Instead, hes just a baby sitter for hiccup and astrid and it gets annoying. Hes always following and sticking up for hiccup, for no reason other than plot and it comes off as forced. The author states that theyre friends, but their interactions state otherwise. Not to mention the author decides to have the MC lose his leg….for no reason whatsoever. Does the author want the MC to be hiccup or something? Like at that point why even make an OC. The MC shoulda just been hiccup. (Id just like to know the reasoning) he could have lost an eye, an arm, an ear, a hand….ANYTHING. Yet the author wanted to have him lose a leg and not be able to walk…i mean whatever.

First off i would like to point out that english is not my native language so forgive me if i spell or write something wrong. Having said that, i have not seen any grammar or spelling mistake so far in the ff, the mc is kinda ok but ultimately very bland due to the fact that we know nothing about him other than him being a reincarnator. He was never really described and the only thing we know about his personality is what we can infer from his actions. Another thing that really bothers me (and really my main problem with this fanfic) is that it is just a recapitulation of the movie, nothing changes except for hiccups gender, the mc doesnt interact with anyone other than hiccup, nobody seems to ever talk about or to him and he just kind of tags along to whatever hiccup does, i would also like to point out that some interactions that he has with hiccup are straight out just things hiccup did with astrid in the movie (ex: the part where they ride together for the first time). Sorry for the long rant but i was kinda dissapointed that the first fanfic i found of httyd ended up being just a rewrite of the original.
