19th century culture was defined by the novel

looks like a promising story. 3 chapters is too less to form an opinion for a review but the story is smooth. a 20th century woman reborn in as a 16th century woman in a noble's family seems interesting. the shock and the difference in culture and the attitude is beautifully portrayed. but where did the vampire come all of a sudden? hmmm. have to see in the forthcoming chapters.

I always find these back-in-time stories interesting, but they have to be historically accurate. Otherwise, it must be set in a comparable time period in another world, since this takes place on Earth in the late 9th century. I do have a small comment about the historical accuracy of the story, by which I mean the fact that the potato was already present in Europe. I know that potatoes are an indispensable part of modern European culture, but they weren't brought to Europe until the 16th century. Before that, we ate grains and barley. Since this story takes place in the 9th century, there weren't any potatoes until the main character discovers them in South America. I may have some OCD about this, but this historical inacuration prevents me from fully immersing myself in the story. I have no other problems with this book, and I'm very interested in the rest of the story.

The translation is too flowery. The simple dialogues sound so unnatural. It's like I'm reading an 18th or 19th century English novel. We can use simple English, can't we?

This story is one of the best vampire story I have ever read. Set in the 18th century of the Western culture, Valerian empire will take you back to those magical time that had carriages and high manners. You don't want to miss this amazing story of our very own vampire king of Valeria, Lord Alexander and lovely Katherine.
