I’m confused about two things in the story and I’m hoping someone can clarify them. I’m currently around chapter 298. First, at the beginning, when the beginner’s starter package is opened, it clearly says the reward is a “Top-tier Water Spiritual Root.” From my understanding, a spiritual root is what allows someone to cultivate spiritually, as opposed to body cultivation, which does not require a spiritual root. However, as the story continues, it repeatedly says that the protagonist does not have a spiritual root. This feels contradictory. If he received a Water Spiritual Root from the starter reward, why is he still treated as someone without a spiritual root? What exactly is the distinction here? Second, what happened to Kael? He’s introduced early on at the sect and seems like he’s going to matter, but then he just disappears from the story without any explanation or conclusion. As of chapter 298, this still feels unresolved. Other than these two points, I’m really enjoying the story. If anyone can explain this, I’d appreciate it.
