This story is set in unrealistic world of abuse. All characters are exaggerated to the point it reminds me of Dickens. And I hate Dickens. But is it a good novel, that makes the reader want to continue. It’s just my personal dislike of black and white characters.

An excellent book written by an excellent author. Regular updates, great story telling and writing style.Takes us back to the 1800s. Hooked with this story, the instant connection and tension between Bethany and Charles was addicting. I loved reading Beth’s confession and how Beth can interpret Charles’s facial expressions. Hope he can learn to smile when the baby comes. Highly recommend this for Romance lovers.

Conflict wise, this romance story does have this conflict. It's a confusing one but only in terms of how it'll be processed from there up until the end. Kudos to the author for making such a conflicted story. Character design however I feel like everyone is similar. Charles is obviously the main lead, and he does have another goal besides "getting the girl". Isabella is anothe one of the female leads in any story akin to this. Gabriel already is portrayed as the guy who IS in a relationship (married) to the female lead but is then a possible rival for the main male lead, Charles in this case. Of course there is no avoiding this in terms of roles. It's kinda of a formula up until now. This novel isn't my cup of tea truth be told, but I gave this review based on it's execution. Overall, I would recommend this to readers who enjoy intense like romance novels.
