The story was good and interesting, the story build up was good like how the MC became strong step by step and the side characters are supportive and flow along the story unlike other novels where they will be with mc for few chapters and then disappear. The only downpour was that romance is slow and I would like if the mc and heroin interact more often. Overall it's a good read...

What is it with these novels? I really hoped this novel would be different, with the attractive cover and blurb, but it turned out to be the same formula for a lot of the books on the side: Step 1: Throw in a traumatic event to draw readers in. Step 2: Rug-sweep it and proceed as if it never happened. Step 3: Occasionally reference to stir the melodrama pot. Step 4: Profit I really can't get past the rape, knowing it was used as a plot device, and the comments justifying it with excuses just made my stomach turn. The ML is sickening by far, even if this is just a novel. His being, as a person or some unholy figment of one's imagination, is disturbing and frightening—he is no where near romantic nor sincere in any way, shape, or form. The writing quality is okay, but I think author could use some work with by making the paragraphs flow better and to express the emotions the author attempted to communicate. The dialogue didn't feel sincere to me at all, but felt like a script every character in these types of novels read from. Even if the writing quality was better, it wouldn't be able to erase my disgust at the romanticization of rape and forced marriage.
