I like how the author make the protagonist is unlikable on purpose, which is rare. If you like dark, literary apocalypse stories with unreliable narrators and heavy meta elements, you'll probably dig this. It reminds me a bit of House of Leaves or early Junji Ito weird stuff. That said, it's not a casual read. You need to pay attention, and even then, you'll have questions.

I’ve read it now—it’s great. I like that it feels a bit psychedelic so far, though I imagine you intend for it to lean more towards fantasy, which I enjoy. The whole business with the gap really reminded me of the human-shaped fissures in that Junji Ito story, *The Enigma of Amigara Fault*; I know you’re a big fan of that one. I’m not sure if it’s a deliberate reference or just a coincidence, but it works well either way.
