I batted at the curl of smoke drifting off the tip of my candle and tried not to sneeze. My heavy velvet cloak fell in oppressive, suffocating folds in the closed space of the ceremony chamber, the cowl trapping the annoying bits of puff I missed. I hated the way my eyes burned and teared, an almost constant distraction. Not that I didn't welcome the distraction, to be honest. Anything to take my mind from what went on around me.

Hi, I just finished reading Legend of Dragon Son-in-Law and I loved it! Your writing is amazing, and I kept thinking how cool it would look as a comic. In Chapter 2, Julius Reed's unexpected confrontation with the Radcliffe family during Old Master Radcliffe's birthday celebration, where he stands up for himself and refuses to let his homemade chicken soup be dismissed, is both dramatic and visually compelling. The tension in the room and Julius's unwavering stance create a scene that would translate beautifully into dynamic comic panels.
