Fantastic horror/adventure set in (faux) Victorian England. Currently my favorite novel on this site. There are too many cultivation novels set in fantasy medieval China here, so it's a delight to read something different.

I really love to read historical novels as I am also writing one, but it starts in 300BC. Medieval England is a great settings and a lot of interesting things happened in that time. I advise you to watch Netflix's movie "The King". It shows 1400s, you can get some ideas from there about medieval period. I can't read this right now, but I'll be marking it in my library. This book is an okay read. Even though for me the story is a bit slow paced 😅 If you like the typical innocent 1800's attitude for a heroine and a medieval alpha vampire hero with some fantasy and magic thrown in it then this book is definitely for you. In some parts, the FL is acting too innocent to my liking (i tend to like a bit psychotic and crazy FL and ML 😅). I think the setting is based on medieval england so i guess the character's attitude are on point. The overall writing is good. Good job to the author.

Judith Bennett’s Ale, Beer, and Brewsters in England: Women’s Work in a Changing World, 1300-1600 was a colossal disappointment. I wanted to know about the rituals surrounding drinking in medieval England: the songs, the games, the parties. Bennett provided none of that information. I liked how the book showed ale and beer brewing as an economic activity, but the reader gets lost in the details of prices and wages. I was more interested in the private lives of the women brewsters. The book was divided into eight long chapters, and I can’t imagine why anyone would ever want to read it.
