Well, there was this time on a merchant navy ship. The cook was making a special dinner and he had a big fish on the counter. A curious cat that sneaked on board somehow jumped on the counter and took off with the fish. The whole crew chased the cat around the ship, it was chaos but also really hilarious in the end. There was also a story of a sailor who thought he saw a mermaid but it was just an old mop floating in the water that looked strange from a distance.

One interesting funny story is that a crew member tried to train a seagull to do tricks for some extra entertainment on the long voyages. He spent days trying to get the seagull to do simple things like fetch a small piece of bread. But instead, the seagull just stole all the food and made a mess everywhere. Another is when a navigator got his maps mixed up and they ended up sailing in the wrong direction for half a day before realizing the mistake. Everyone had a good laugh about it later.
