the dursleys meet harry's family fanfiction

big plot hole at ch 4. OC invites HP to stay at his muggle family's house, instead of HP spending the summer at Dursleys and ignoring the fact that the blood of the Dursleys had been keeping HP safe all along, and without HP being close to them, then Voldemort and his goons would be having an easy time locating Harry. Of course nothing happens and this is thoroughly ignored, even if this glaring detail is why Harry was at the Dursleys to begin with. To clarify - the actual Reason Harry Potter had been spending ca. 10 years at the Dursleys is stepped on, shredded to pieces and then sent to the nearest dumpster. Though, if you can overlook these pitfalls of plot holes, then I guess you can get some enjoyment out of this read.

It's off to a bad start, there's a reason Harry is left with people as horrible as the Dursleys! -3 stars for not knowing such an important detail.

Honestly, I could see Harry turning evil if he 100% knew that Dumbledore was responsible for leaving him with the Dursleys. He could say whatever excuses he wants. Harry would've been better off in an orphanage.

My problems with this fanfic: 1-The elements introduced from chapter 23 onwards make it very difficult to believe that: -The Potters had to hide (and die) at Godric Hollow. -Harry was kept at the Dursleys until Sirius escaped (if Dobby could reach him...) 2-Too many new things piled up since chapter 23. Too much of Super Potter Family.

This was a nice connector between worlds of fiction and a type of reality. The segway was nice. It left me with a few questions that might make add to the story. In the first chapter, I wondered why Minerva decided to talk to the Dursleys instead compared to the original. I got the point that the character will likely change the story as he goes based on his memory, but I don't think I understood where the change suddenly came in. Although it was a better way of going for sure to try and build the trust of the Dursleys. As the new Harry sought to gain favour with the family we didn't really hear how Dudley was at 8 and how Harry and Dudley interacted. Did Harry attempt to build trust with Dudley as well even though it is alluded that he might be a bit of a nuisance? I liked the explanation of magic in this I wonder though with the original scene where Harry's magic started with the encounter with the snake where danger made the magic begin, despite the character's growth, is he using magic yet or just holding the power? Any way I am curious about where the story will go and how different it will be. Keep going. It seems like a good start.
