Started great, seemed like a satisfying novel about medicine, surgery, and so on. However, the author seems to have read too many xianxia/wuxia novels, for some reason, in a hospital, one department looks down on another, without regards for the roles they are specifically made for, and even sometimes risks people's lives for "face". For example, a bit of spoilers The department of emergency has a goal of never losing. What does this mean? it means that when a patient comes to them, they have as a role to make sure that the patient lives and is quickly transferred to the right department/specialists. Thus, the department of emergency is a jack of trades, master of none by design. While other departments are specialists, designed to "win" as their role, which means they should actually "cure" the patient based on their speciality. Thus, they are a master of one. These roles are logical, efficient, and shows how important the emergency department is, how central it's role is in a hospital. However, in this novel, all doctors look down on that department and constantly criticize it, simply because they are not "specialists" and can't solve everything by themselves. This is brain rot. By design, the emergency department is not supposed to solve everything, or else, what need is there for other departments? Might as well make the whole hospital and emergency hospital. It's crazy to me how even "lower" ranking doctors, treat the department head of the emergency department, as if they're freaking children. Their attitude would seriously not work in real life, since the top of the hospital should have punished them for it. Now then, why do I say it feels like xianxia/wuxia? Well, you can already somewhat guess it, the department heads keep fighting for.... you guessed right.. their "face", and... guess who fights and slaps other people's faces? The MC. He needs to save the "face" of his department after all, since the other doctors act like children, bickering with a department that by design isn't supposed to specialize. Believing them useless. Honestly, I'll read a bit more to see, but if it keeps up like that, then meh.
