Synopsis

A cheating boyfriend and a traitorous best friend had always been a cliché start to a story. Fil often thought those things only happened in such narratives. Who would have thought this same cliché twist would happen to her? Fil was a devout Christian who held marriage and marital fidelity sacred. She had been a very good girl from childhood to adulthood. But when she caught her childhood sweetheart slash fiancé and her best friend rolling under the sheets, Fil wanted to rebel for the first time. The first step of her rebellious journey? Getting drunk. After drowning her sorrows with the help of alcohol, Fil met the enigmatic Jackson. The moment her eyes met those tantalizing golden orbs, words slipped past her lips without any notion of the kind of situation she was getting herself into: “Will I go to hell if I lose my virginity before marriage?” His thin, red lips curled up as a glint flickered across his naturally sharp eyes, and he said, “Who knows? But I can bring heaven to you if you want me to.” ***** Jackson. A man shrouded in mystery and secrets, licentious to the core with zero morality, someone who had grown bored playing games with life. Until one fateful night, a woman suddenly appeared before him — a perfect prey for a boring night. Little did he know, a night with a rebellious wannabee wouldn’t be enough to quench his biological urge. Nor would he ever fathom the colors she gave to his gray-colored world. A good girl with dirty thoughts and a sinful man who had even dirtier thoughts. A relationship that started for revenge and to satisfy one’s need; was there even space for true love? How? When the man bending her down would nastily whisper in her ear, “You've been a fucking good girl.” **** As the two grapple with their own demons threatening to tear them apart, doubts would start surfacing in their hearts. Was this rebellion worth sacrificing her principles for? Could she truly find happiness in the arms of a man so steeped in darkness? And for Jackson, was redemption possible for a devil like him? And if so, would she be the one to lead him towards the light? Would she even accept his darkest secrets and the hell of his world? In a world where trust was a rare commodity and love was a fragile flame, Fil and Jackson would have to navigate the treacherous waters of desire and redemption. Would they face the unknown together? Or would they let go to save themselves from the impending pain of being together? **** JOIN MY DISCORD SERVER: https://discord.gg/gXCMQwmrGY Spanish translation of this book is also available on Webnovel . I really love this new story and I really, really, really hope it is picked to be continued. I was just thinking the other day that there really weren't tons of thief/con man stories on this site and some of the ones that were here were VRMMO stories where there were very little actual stealing/heists and more traditional fighting against monsters. However, just as I was getting frustrated, low and behold Webnovel actually adds a potential thief novel! I love movies like Ocean's 11 and the Sting, and this scratches that heist itch. For those who can't get behind rooting for a thief/criminal or find the schemes of those heist movies a little too unbelievable, don't worry. This novel does not have those problems. First, the heist depicted in this story is actually a drill to test out the preparedness of the police officers and the bank security. The main character is simply pretending to be a robber. As such, no one is actually hurt or harmed during this process. Second, the main character takes a very realistic approach for his heist. Rather than walking in with nothing but a suit like some heist movies might do, he walks into the bank with a mask as well as fake guns and grenades to simulate what a real bank robber would do. It feels realistic. However, it is not boring either. The various schemes, strategies, and precautions he uses against the authorities really make it feel like there is a complex scheme in play like any of the heist movies. Even now when the heist is reaching its final stages in chapter 20, I still don't know how he will get away. While many stories are by the numbers on this site and you can easily predict how confrontations will end, a story that can surprise you to the very last moments is a precious treasure. As a final bonus, the story takes place in the United States, so as an American reader, I can more easily connect to the characters and the story. There is one tiny slip up at one point where they use the measurement "catties" instead of pounds, but other than that it is easy to get immersed in the story. In conclusion, read this novel if you like fun heist stories that surprise you. You will not have to worry that this story will be too unrealistic or the character is hard to root for.

A great heist novel needs a unique concept. It could be stealing something unusual, like a priceless art piece from a heavily guarded museum as in 'The Thomas Crown Affair'. The setting also plays a part. A heist in a high - tech bank or an ancient castle can both create different atmospheres. Moreover, the element of surprise is crucial. Just when the readers think they know what's going to happen, the story throws in a twist. And of course, the motivation of the characters behind the heist should be believable, whether it's for money, revenge or just the thrill of it.
