I’ve read 6 chapters, and how I would describe the story so far is that it’s quiet, slow, and comforting. I imagine the setting to be somewhere rural, and the angles for each character are relatable. Expectations: We’ve now been introduced to the source of Noah’s pain, which makes me very much look forward to seeing how she heals. And also anticipating more page time for Felix. There are areas to improve on in terms of writing, but I believe that the author can only get better as she continues writing. The first few chapters of this story is reminiscent of the beginning of chapter 2 of The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. I’m reminded of “A typical day in Carriveau.” If you love historical books, add this to your collection.
