HOTD: The Rise of Atlantis
On a clear morning in the reign of King Viserys I Targaryen, the Kingdom of Atlantis — its cities, fleets, magic, and six thousand years of history — is torn from one world and grafted whole into the seas of Westeros and Essos. King Arthur Curry, nine years into a hard-won reign, has no idea what has happened to his kingdom, only that the currents are wrong, the stars are wrong, and something the size of a warship flies on wings of gold above open water where no sky should be.
Above the surface, the lords of Westeros know nothing yet — but that ignorance will not last three days. A Velaryon patrol ship out of Driftmark is the first to sight an impossible vessel cutting through the Gullet, faster and stranger than anything in Corlys Velaryon's considerable experience of the world's oceans. Word reaches King's Landing within the week, and the Small Council of King Viserys I splinters immediately into camps: those who see omen and threat, those who see opportunity, and one Hand of the King, Otto Hightower, who sees a chance to reshape the succession politics of the realm entirely.
Atlantis, meanwhile, moves with the discipline of a kingdom that has survived worse surprises than this. Arthur Curry does not send armies. He sends scholars, scouts, and — when the moment demands it — an embassy, testing the temperature of these new waters exactly as Corwin, his loremaster, advises: slowly, and with a blade sheathed but not far from hand.
What follows is the uneasy, halting dance of two civilizations that have never needed each other's permission to exist — a Westerosi court built on dragons, blood, and inheritance meeting an Atlantean crown built on trident-law, tide-magic, and a king who has spent his whole life being underestimated. Neither side yet knows if the other is a miracle, a threat, or the beginning of the end of the world they understood.
