In addition to writing books, Sebastian Badarau also acts and directs for stage and film. Most recently he has worked with film director Graham Baker (Alien Nation) adapting the novel A State of Denmark for a 2021 release. His latest project is radio-drama ¨The Uncertainty Principle¨ which he wrote and directed himself and was broadcast by Radio Iasi, last year. It tells the story of three scientists who are on the verge of a major breakthrough in quantum mechanics but find themselves in conflict over what the discovery actually is. ¨TONGUES OF FIRE¨ is about this extraordinary take on the theme of alien body invasion that I hadn't seen before in books nor movies. It is also the one that resonates with me the most, on a more personal level. Not that I, personally, have been invaded by aliens but I find it empowering and also deeply humane. It is also quite simple and logical if you spend a bit of time meditating on the world, Space and our role in the Universe. I think there is good literature out there, but you got to know where to find it. We may also have very different definitions of what a good book really is. My definition is somewhere in the essence of writing, which is tone and style, and not necessarily story. It is the art of story-telling more than the art of owning a good narrative. 'Brothers Karamazov' by Dostoyevski is a pretty mundane book, in terms of narrative, but the style is spectacular. Same for Hemingway, Dickens, Camus or Boris Vian. If it were simply for the story, Boris Vian would not pass the test. I also love science, particularly physics and mathematics. And also love art about science. You may wonder what theatre or performance has in common with science. But I think the answer is quite obvious. Both physics and art are direct pathways to investigating phenomena, whether it's the natural world or human behavior. Science asks the biggest questions: ¨who are we?¨, ¨where do we come from?¨ ¨what's the final goal?¨ Anyone who has worked in arts, know that artists are preoccupied by the exact same questions. I believe anyone who will delve a little bit deeper into both worlds may come to a comforting answer sooner than those who like to keep the two separated at arm's length.¨ Rick Sarpaulis is a young mathematician who returns to the fictional town of Fayhill, after a very long absence, and takes up a job as a substitute teacher at the local school. Both his previous relationship and his job as an assistant researcher at the Department of Non-Euclidean Geometry at Courant have ended in failure. He's dreading the prospect of facing the locals, who've known him since he was a kid and whom he views as racists, non-inclusive and ready only to spread gossip about the return of the prodigal son. He attributes the failure to sustain any relationship and build a career on his chronic depression and inability to function properly in society. In Fayhill, he falls in love with Audrey, a young woman he describes as having a ¨downcast glow to her face, immobile; like that of a wild child being raised by wolves, while her eyes perpetually strip any potential partner for signs of passion and vulnerability.

My dark angel system
After being turned into "Dark angel" by an old book his parents left him, Ace finds himself confronted with a myriad of problems, the first of which being that he now has no sympathy. Furthermore, he now has a "system" in his head, that presents him with a multitude of videogame-like features, such as quests, an experience meter and more. This system also brings with it and artificial intelligence, which he can converse with via his thoughts, that provides him with information about his new species, and answers most of his questions (yet evades some or outright denies answers to him, stating he is not ready for them yet). In the first few chapters of this story, Ace is taken to a military school and quickly learns that, even though he surprisingly does not know a single person attending it, he can by no means escape the ever present harassment and bullying for being weak. With time, however, Ace is able get stronger and is eventually at the point where he could flip his situation and punish his oppressors. He decides to take the matter of the bullying problem into his own hands, after the teachers have continuously shown that they will not do anything against it, even going so far as to encourage it in certain instances. This proves challenging though, since he must keep the change in his species a secret as a consequence of the fact that, should his real identity be found out, he is highly likely to be taken away by scientists and/or powerful people in order to experiment with him. The solution to this problem goes hand in hand with the alleviation of another of his predicaments—his species being greatly weakened by any exposure to direct sunlight. That solution is the creation of a suit and a mask, which shield his entire body from the sun. He uses this suit to fight and defeat those oppressing others, and get stronger himself in the process. As the story progresses, he is slowly introduced more and more to information regarding his own species. The arrival of another member of said species at his school marks the beginning of his journey to understand himself and his origins, as well as the entire dark angel world as a whole. With time he is introduced to more and more knowledge as well as secrets both of the human and the dark angel world. He finds that in order to be able to protect those important to him, he must get a lot stronger. In a semblance to the tale of Sisyphus, he finds that whenever he is close to being strong enough, he either attains new information or becomes involved in new conflicts that reveal that he still has a long way to go.

Slowly and steadily, the passage of time took away the glowing lights of every Risars, except for Udødelig, who was bonded to the plains for eternity. Fearing the race of The Immortal, the other 8 races combined forces and captured all the immortals in The Great War of Descent. They made all the remaining immortals infertile and put them in Sisyphus's chamber for the rest of infinity using the strongest know magic. Several millennia later, it appears as though the prophecy of ødeleggelse was true and Ragnarok is nearing as the forces of Hel take command over the lands of the living.
