Oh this is just my thought .. i think the 11th door was different from what ruan nanzhu and Lin quishi went through and there was a 12th experience. But since the 12th door ghost (NPC) decided to get a PhD in love, the 11th had to be upgraded. So if you survive the 11th door, the 12th door becomes the choice you make.
Lin Qiushi was curious why that was, and Ruan Nanzhu, gaming beside him with a controller in hand, kept his eyes fixed on the TV as he calmly said, "the twelfth door doesn't exist anymore, so it doesn't matter whether or not we fade."

kaleidoscope of death summary in few words😂
Lin Qiushi buried his face in his hands, not knowing what to say. Should he blame someone else for starting Ruan Nanzhu down a crooked path? But if he thought about it, didn't it kind of feel like he himself had been the one to mess Ruan Nanzhu up—

🚪👻
Lin Qiushi reached out and caught his lover's earlobe in a pinch. Leaning his face in close, he murmured against Ruan Nanzhu's cheek: "My dear, what in the world are you?"

he is everyone's 12th door, that's why it is locked now
The answers to some questions weren't all that important to have. As long as Ruan Nanzhu was by his side, he felt like it was enough. As for what Ruan Nanzhu was…

There is no 12th door because the door ghost for the 12th door is unavailable
Lin Qiushi yawned, and by habit logged onto the doors forum. He found though, that entry today was particularly hard. He managed to squeeze in with great difficulty, and saw, all over the place, what was practically the exact same topic—"why has the twelfth door been sealed?" "I thought I saw wrong, so the twelfth door has really been sealed? Is this a bug in the doors or what?" "Oh my god, does this mean we have one less door to pass in the future?"

he is back for real
The number was Ye Niao's, and when the call came through, his voice was beyond excited. He said: "Lin-ge, Ruan-ge's back!"
