It is really awkward to read bc u have seen the story plot beforehand and there's really no defence like some of the other

Is not the plot thats awkward is the whole thing. It felt like author is trying to stuff as much content as possible without caring how each interact with another.

I really don't like this kind of novel where the mc got transported into the game that he played, and he knows the plot, and then trying to be the number one using this knowledge. Seems bland.
