Somewhat Disappointing, it has a fantastic beginning and really kick ass MC... for the first few chapters, after that the characters become increasingly 2d, and disposable, a great deal of face slapping and MC pride mongering ensues, there are some funny moments and a couple slightly thought provoking ones...but it leaves you with the feeling of bait and switch, which is really frustrating and makes you feel robbed. Don't get me wrong, its not a bad story, but it feels like a scifi with all the tropes of a wuxia novel, So much potential in this story feels like it has been wasted, and a lot of it feels like it is first sucked out of the authors thumb, and then given shallow justifications as to why and how it is happening.

Face slapping in a novels context: the author sets up a situation, repeatedly emphasizes what the norm is, then proceeds to have the MC destroy said norm in a flashy way, tearing down the pride of those who shortly before were screaming about how it was impossible. While quite prevalent in xianxia novels it is not exclusive to them. In short its all about the MC stepping on others pride, done right it is a seldom used and subtle mechanic that is mildly comedic. Done wrong it is tiresome and annoying and pretty much just filler material. Most authors like this one don't do it right. I invite you to reexamine your comment and this novel with this context.

Yea, the 2d characters really annoyed me, I had to drop the book after awhile as it just bugged me as sloppy authorship.
moonKe:don't forget that all the players are perfectly content to have a marginal/inconsequential roll in every single mainline story, as if players would be happy to do jack all to a mainline boss. as if.
Face slapping isn’t exclusive to xianxia’s novel right now indeed but they’re the one which introduced the genre to public, and it seems you had a misconception about of what “face slapping” is. It’s not just about break the norm, doing the impossible or tearing someone pride, there’s a situation like trash talking & audiences on the action which such conditions not happening on this novel, so it’s can’t be considered a face slapping thing. it’s far from it actually

Its going to happen but not now, the resources needed for such vehicles aren't available on his planet, its a very primitive one compared to other much advanced planets in the galaxy (and the author heavily implies that going onward). So depending on u wanting MC to build such stuff you'll have to wait till the galaxy exploration starts and he gets the resources and skills required for such a task, his skills aren't near enough to other well known mechanics in the galaxy as of now. Not to mention the amount of money he would need so...

True and I agree plus not just the characters becoming 2d but the world itself especially when he partially acertains the realness of himself to the world around him before the 'players' arrived but soon after it all just stops like an arc was over like stated by some players that the npc's curious actions are a game plot, here the mc knows better & it later reenforced that their language & actions is jumbled & inaudible to the npc's. Potential of the story & mc starts dropping the futher it advances becoming frustratingly irritating read.

Dont listen to him this novel is great and alot of the things complained about here dont make sense like for example complaining about the fact that his drones didnt mine? He does plenty of that if you read the book thats for when he gets into the galaxy of course the first few chapters arent going to be instant space exploration
