The story was great initially. However the story was rushed the last dozen or so chapters. The ending was nonsensical. Characters other than the MC are also of no consequence even if they seem important.

Can you spoil the end? I stopped around ch 800, and I don't want to re-read it, especially since you said the ending was rushed. You said other characters are of no consequence, in the end did he end up with his disciple? Did he achieve immortality? Does he only have a bit of life left? Any spoil will be good, as I don't plan to read further ~
Spoiler: All demon gods go to the beginning of time. MC creates his own world in the current world. Various forces are going to fight in the current world to gain supremacy but MC has already isolated himself
