Gender racism? No no you got it wrong there it would be gender 3exism. Even then it's not (Most women like romance ) And (Most men like harem) Thus most novels follow that trend to what (most men and women like) and of course there're the golden ones that don't go with what we like and turn out just as good if not better.

Actually this is because the authors are typically women and typically write toward the stereotypical girl's interest. (I say stereotypical because although I do like romance novels I would like more non-romance novels with female leads)

No, this novel isn't romance L O L. Whoever put the series under romance either didn't read the story or they really didn't read the story. Even if it's a female protagonist, the romance in this story is probably less than .5% of the novel so far. It should be in Sci-fi, like how it's on Qidian, not romance.

Romance could be later on, Qidian or translators might have read way ahead in raw or they could simply reuse this novel's tags on Chinese qidian website.

I wondered about this, too. It's a bit annoying to think that Female MC -> Romance genre. I gotta admit that most of the stories are justified to belong on these genre but so do other novels. At some point in the story, the male MC is going to meet his love interest/s and doesn't that count as romance? Even if the male MC merely interacts with them in bed, the women are in love with him(cringe) and he doesn't do anything to stop it so it's kinda mutual and therefore romance. Romance will always be a subtopic Evil emperor's wild consort is about rebirth and getting revenge. So what if she meets her ML early on, the story isn't just about her love life.

No. Trust me. I read all of the raws, I'm up to date (I'm also a major fan of this series). The author finally set up the conditions for possible (reciprocated) romance around the chapter 1410s. And this novel's tags on Chinese Qidian is Science Fiction/Outerspace Fiction. Up until that point, it's just been the male lead trying his best against the unfeeling rock known as Ling Lan. In fact, the male lead doesn't even get to show up until after a good period of Ling Lan's growth has gone past.

Nah its because writing female mc back scripts are rather hard as we need to have the limitations of the gender mindset. So because of this 'compulsary' problem, most writers would usually add romance to it since its what most people are familiar with.

And its also because romance can help act as a connection with certain parts of the story and is one of the more understandable things in life....... or not up to you to infer from.
