Don't get your hopes up. This gem is hollow inside and here is why. I have read it entirely. 500 hundred chapters of awesomeness and then it spiraled into never ending repeating similar sentences, situations, tropes and same mold forgettable useless characters. 1.Romance is extremely badly incorporated into the story. Doesn't help when the main girl is nothing but a bland puppet with no personality used to move the plot. 2. MC goal ends to be with each next arc to get stronger and to create waves, one bigger than the other, his reputation MUST be illustrious. 3.He is the chief of lucky - 7-chosen lottery, everything of benefit comes handily to him just because. 4.Others exist to be impressed and to worship him. 5.Action chapters later are waving sleeves and all powerful snorting and many things that don't make sense. 6.Mc personality explained over and over again as so good and scholarly like, but his actions are in fact the exact 180. 7.Translator gripe- the repeated CAPS monologues are not the least bit shocking or interesting. It was the best story for me up to when he gets at Yuanyung stage. I realised after a few arcs that Author got run out of ideas and the story got noticeably bad. I think it as Overwhelmingly underwhelming story, because close to 1/3 of it was really awesome, even thought it had many problems whixh the story made up for, but overall my hope got crushed and I just read it to pass time, but it's really horrible.

Yeah i agree with u. Not to mention alot weapons forgotten, charaters not even named. MC is a bully whose force ppl to owe n pay him money, n look how he treated meat jelly whose help him so many times. And i really pity chu yuyan. In my opinion, if author sux at creating romance plot, pls just stop creating caracters that fall in love with MC. Fucking annoying!

Chu Yuyan needed to get over herself and move on with her life. There is nothing pitiable (or respectable) about a powerful, attractive woman who covets another woman's husband (with whom she had no relationship with in the first place, other than as enemies), and despite repeated rejections, continues to lust after him like some sort of rabid stalker fangirl.

The romance kinda killed it for me. Any girl but her would've been ok.

But rabid stalker seems to be the kind of relationship Meng Hao would be good with given his relationship

For her sake she needed to do that yeah. But ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

About your 6th claim "Mc personality explained over and over again as so good and scholarly like, but his actions are in fact the exact 180." Meng Hao's a shameless money grubber who remembers every debt. As for his personality being explained over and over again? I'm pretty sure in the story it never actually explained his personality as good or scholarly. At most it was mentioned as the viewpoints of other characters. On top of that, his personality was never described as ONLY/completely "good and scholarly". Besides, good can be interpreted in different ways. Someone who's kind to everyone. A saint who tries to save everyone. Someone who's willing to do anything to protect his friends, including slaughtering other people. Someone who'll help others in any way possible as long as their life won't be in danger. Etc. He's a money grubber because he grew up alone from a young age and had to support himself. That and the fact that since he dreamed of being a scholar, and it costed money for paper, brushes, ink, books, etc. The payment to take the examinations to become a scholar costed a lot on top of that, and he failed the examinations quite a few times. So he was deep in debt to Steward Zhao I believe. And considering how much resources cultivation costs. Spoiler Alert!! Spoiler Alert!!! Spoiler Alert!!!! And how much more resources that mirror needed for each use. Minor Spoiler Alert!! There's also the fact that he inherited his money grubbing personality from one of his parents. For your 4th claim "Others exist to be impressed and to worship him." There's quite a lot of people who hate or want to kill him in the story. And other unimpressed people who don't worship him. And seriously, "Yuanyung stage"? That's not a cultivation stage. If it's an arc, then just say it's an arc. And spell it correctly too. As for your claim on how the novel had many problems and was "really horrible." Did you actually even read the novel?

Yes I have read it entirely. Author's ability to show how wicked meng hao is while telling the audience that he is in fact scholarly saint with obsession on money and all he does is justified is best shown in lamp treasure hunting arc. His competitors for the treasure are tortured and humiliated, while author writes how much of scholarly conduct that this is. And yes, other really do exist for those reasons. There are atleast fifty full text chapters of mooks describing how awesome Mc is. Every single person, be it enemy, bystander or friend that Mc meets, just realises how domineering, uber awesome, heaven defying, SHOCKING, he is. Only the final enemy of the story has a different goal of getting stronger and standing above Mc. The author ability to not be able to write a coherent fight that doesn't include multi colored beam of light, waving a sleeve producing an op treasure or wind, / at one point mc on same stage unleashes this move killing over 1000 cultivators, im serious/ or the all powerful snorting exploding in pilevof blood enemies, can be counted on one hand after NASCENT SOUL/YUANYUNG/ stage. And lets not talk about how underwhelming were the last five arcs or so/past immortal stage/, especially the big war arc. There is always a treasure for mc, always shocked spectators, always enemies with different colored robed cultivators serving as step stone for mc. That's why it's overwhelmingly underwhelming story.

I'm not even going to go into all your other claims. Just the point that you made about the fight scenes. Let me ask a question. Just why would you expect something different when it's a WUXIA web novel? Shouldn't that make it clear what kind of fight scenes there'll be?

Thats why I said 1/3 of story was great, because it was awesome. All those moves and techniques were top.

True. For the lamp treasure hunting arc, his competitors weren't tortured. He did humiliate some of them though, like that Sun Hai (not sure if that's actually the name) who had all his hair tugged out. I'm pretty sure the author never wrote that torture and humiliation was a scholarly conduct. There were only some scenes here and there where Meng Hao smiled kindly or acted innocent to form a contrast with the current situation he was in.

If this is 3'stars... I wonder what other similar genre will be rated at -1 or -5?

I rate it two and half, because of the awesome first 1/3 part of story combined with the underwhelming 2/3 following

Your expectations is too high for web novels... In the field of cultivation novel this stuff is considered top stuff... If u feel skeptical then go try Martial World or similar stuff to those... Then you will understand the meaning of underwhelming...

In the perspective of literature and standard novels, there are indeed many points that are either lacking or done badly. But is a web novel. The AUTHOR earnings is quite limited The main reason why we even read cultivation novels is due to the allure of world settings. This guy, havent try out the novels where the world setting is more dull than reality, the repeating plot that need author lucky hand ti pogress and characters including mc is so nlend that one cant find things that are more blend under the heaven

A Farmer's Journey To Immortality

"Battling young masters for some treasures in mysterious caves? No, thank you. What's so special about a ring containing an old sage's trapped soul? I'll just toss it away. Becoming a direct disciple of some big expert with many enemies? Count me out. I'll flip the bird to the pointless struggle in prestigious sects that only attract calamity. What I have here, this opportunity I've seized, is plenty for me. I'll choose safe and steady methods of progress, even if they're slow. After all, I'm just a simple farmer seeking peace through cultivation. I'll rely on myself to pave the way." - Aksai Everwood (Chapter 7) ============ Meet Aksai Everwood, a guy who thought he was done with life, but life had other plans. Aksai wasn't always Aksai. He used to be Arman Arlott, a terminally ill dude who decided to take one last wild ride before checking out. Little did he know, a crazy experiment would flip his world upside down. Arman's mind got tangled up with artificial intelligence, and things got seriously weird. Instead of peacefully bowing out, Arman ended up sacrificing himself for some mind-blowing breakthrough. But instead of eternal rest, he got a second chance as Aksai Everwood, a spirit farmer in a new world. Talk about a cosmic curveball! You'd think being a farmer in a serene, pastoral paradise would be easy, right? Nope. Aksai's new world is anything but peaceful. Farming is far from sunshine and rainbows here. Aksai dreams of a chill life cultivating his crops, but in the wild world of immortal cultivation, peace is a rare commodity. Luckily, Aksai's got some serious advantages. He's got a neural link fabric that makes him a whiz at alchemy and array formations, giving him a leg up on other Spirit cultivators. Plus, he has the Enchanted Everwood Farm, a magical place where he can grow all sorts of mysterious cultivation resources with awesome bonuses. This farm comes with perks that make Aksai a one-of-a-kind Spirit farmer. And here's the kicker: the farm is suspended in a spatial junction of all existing realities. That means Aksai can hop between different worlds as he levels up in his Spirit cultivation. With these unique advantages, Aksai ditches the traditional path of joining a sect or a renowned clan. Instead, he explores various worlds, using their unique resources and methods to forge his own path as a Spirit cultivator. What do myriad worlds unlock? A druid bloodline, body cultivation, martial arts, and lots more. Who’d join sects when given such perks? The stage is set for our Spirit farmer. Now Aksai, his companions, and you, his readers, are in for a journey of rebirth, redemption, and a whole lot of dirt under your fingernails. ============ Additional Tags: #druid #bloodlines #Martialarts #worldhopping #artificialintelligence #coldmc #battlenovel #calculatingmc #villain #farming #spiritcultivation #mindcultivation #bodycultivation #worldhopping #rpgelements #low-keymc #sliceoflife #nonarrogantmc
