LIKEI read the definition... blank for several seconds. First thouht was giant metal lung. Second was electric paddles from a crash cart... my final thought was who teaches this and why would it make people excited to write a story.

Oxymoron:Eschatology is more like the religious study of the apocalypse and the here-after and such, not the apocalypse itself.
Well...believing in the end of the world is kinda a characteristic of religions... Atheists only see it from two angles: a man-induced end by creation of a virus that causes a zombie apocalypse or a nuclear war, and the sun eventually imploding, but thats why we study space-travel.
