Hello from China. Here is something you should KNOW about the price. This novel is great, it is really great to see readers all over the world enjoying it. Each time I saw the comments from you, I can't help but have a smile on my face. Your reactions are similar to most Chinese readers, and it seems that people around the world do have many things in common. But!!!!! One thing surprise me is the price you guys paid. It cost 8 spirit stones, really? You know what, IT ONLY COSTS 0.8~1 SPIRIT STONES to unlock 1 chapter for RtW, in the Chinese version of Qidian. Details here. In the Chinese Qidian app, it cost 1 dollars to buy 600 Reading Points (RD). Each chapter cost 10~12 RD on average. And for you guys, it cost 1 dollars (converted to us dollar) to buy 50 SS. Each chapter cost 8~10 SS. So the Chinese version needs only around 0.8~1ss to unlock each ch. The extra charging fee should be given to the translator and the company, right? But you have the right to know the truth. Give me thumbs up and let others see this. I give 3/5 to let others notice me, in my heart it is 5/5, or 5000000/5.

Huh... well at least I'm not spending 15-20 SS on a chapter unlike another novel I attempted to read...

If it cost that much (.8ss) I probably would become a paying customer. But as it is.... I'm forgoing convenience for free

You must take the cost of translation into tconsideration. Meanwhile the number of people who read the book in China is much larger than it here. But i agree others' wish for free access with ads. Because that is what I wish in China.

How does one pay for the next chapter?

we have a account in the website of QiDian. Before you read the next chapter, you need to use the previously purchased virtual currency to unlock it. Just like the way in the WebNovel.

Makes sense though, translation takes effort and effort deserves compensation. Having said that, in the United States and Europe, things are generally more exspensive than they are in other countries and continents. The root cause involves a bunch complicated economics which results in a certain general level of pricing in an area. A company selling a product or service will look at the market they sell in and try to price their wares competitively, which reinforces the 'average' pricing. The result of this is that, using the United States as an example, things cost more because people have more money regardless of the actual costs involved in producing the product. Moreover, although the core items which ultimately decide this 'average pricing' might change in cost to produce either up or down depending on a variety of factors (generally trending downwards as technology advances) businesses will generally not decrease prices to match, but only increase them when the costs increase. The logic behind that is ******, when costs drop their margin increases and they make more money. When costs increase the margin falls and to make the same money as before they must increase prices. Thus, and also because of a few other factors, barring strong competition for customers (which results in lower prices to get more sales, prices in rich regions will always be higher and further, those prices will steadily increase over time. There is a lot more to it, but I've got reading to do and no mere spirit stone is keeping me away from RTW!

Your comment comes from kindness, I appreciate it. However, you're so childish, you didn't consider the economy difference at all. You haven't thought about the habits of paying for the copyright difference between China and the Westerns. As you said, part of the extra charge would go for the cost of translation and webnovel. But it would still look kinda overpriced to you compare to what it costs in Qidian. The thing is, you can't do simple math like that. How many readers in Qidian? And how many readers in webnovel? What's the salary average in China and what's the salary average in the USA? (if we measure in the same currency, let's say, CNY)And after all, this is a novel written by Chinese which means the content could include cultural difference, you won't know if it could be as popular. Good point, but meaningless.
